This blog came to be after 30 years of buying, selling, restoring, and collecting classic cars. I found myself with the opportunity to work at a local classic car restoration shop and quickly realized all of the questionable activities of the shop owner, causing delays, higher costs, and, in many cases, mental anguish of their clients. Not willing to be a part of the scam I decided to learn their tactics and share with the car hobbyist out there having their cars and money being taken from them.

Preserving Originality vs. Modernizing

When restoring and collecting classic cars, a common dilemma is whether to preserve the car’s originality or incorporate modern features. This decision depends on the owner’s vision and intended use for their vehicle, which is why our experts offer advice and resources tailored to assist them with either approach.

Restoring to Preserve Originality

Preserving originality maintains the car’s historical value and authenticity, keeping it at a similar value and attracting collectors’ interest. This process involves locating and sourcing genuine parts, adhering to original paint colors, and preserving the interior materials and design. Additionally, restoring and preserving originality requires extensive research to ensure accurate representation and maintain the vehicle’s essence.

Modernizing Your Vehicle

Modernizing a classic car involves upgrading various components to improve performance, safety, and comfort. This process usually consists of installing modern engines, advanced braking systems, or updated suspensions. Enhancing the interior with contemporary technology, such as air conditioning, GPS navigation, and premium sound systems, also improves the driving experience. The modernizing approach is excellent for individuals who wish to enjoy the beauty of a classic car but with the convenience of modern technology.
